BIG PICTURE
Raekwon Davis was never able to build on a monstrous 2017 season, which brings his professional profile into question. Davis had 8.5 sacks as a sophomore and only three his other three seasons combined. A former four-star recruit, Davis has incredible size, which makes him an ardent run stuffer, but he's yet to put together a pass-rushing portfolio. Played all over the line at Alabama last year but shapes up as an inside rusher that may not be ready to contribute on all three downs.

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com: "Rugged and powerful with elite physical traits, Davis has the ability to impose his will on opponents and dominate at the point of attack. He plays long and strong with rare leverage for a taller player and holds positioning against double teams for linebackers to flow freely. He was all over the backfield in 2017, but hasn't made nearly as many plays -- against the run or pass -- since then. Despite possessing unique traits and the potential to dominate, his upside could be a moving target based upon maturity level and continued growth as a rusher. He should be a first-round pick who can come in and start right away for an odd or even front defense."
Kyle Crabbs, Draft Network: "Raekwon Davis is a promising prospect, but one whose development at Alabama has become stagnant over his final two seasons. His best projection to the NFL would be to be featured as a penetration 5T in odd fronts, where he can press the B-gap and avoid being tasked with two-gapping and reading/keying blocks at the point of attack. Davis is more natural when encouraged to penetrate and create havoc with athleticism. Developmental starter."
