He's an All-American, an All-Conference performer, and a back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher. One would think David Montgomery's draft stock would be higher. But there are some red flags after his career at Iowa State. Montgomery gathered most of his yards in volume, which speaks to his durability, but his career average of 4.7 yards per carry is low for the college game, especially amongst elite running backs. Montgomery has, however, shown ability in the passing game and a knack for shedding tackles. While his combine wasn't strong, Montgomery hopes teams look at the totality of his film from college.
