The Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, Ben Burr-Kirven was a one-man wrecking crew with 176 total tackles to lead the nation. Finished his career with 11 tackles and a sack in the Rose Bowl last New Year’s Day. Had a 20-tackle game against Arizona State earlier in the season. His short-area speed is his best quality, which helped him get to ball-carriers and become an effective pass-rusher when asked. Struggled in coverage last season, however, allowing 65 of 78 completions. His motor will take him a long way, but maybe not before Day 3 of the draft.

“Small, hyper-instinctive linebacker who plays with "clear eyes, full heart" and consistently punches above his weight class for production totals that contradict his size. Unfortunately, size does matter -- especially in the middle of a defense -- and he might be too maxed out to add necessary mass. However, instincts and willful demeanor are traits required for outliers and Burr-Kirven has a chance to be just that kind of outlier as a backup linebacker and special teams demon.” – Lance Zierlein, NFL.com

“Burr-Kirven is a high-motor linebacker with marginal processing skills, a lack of functional strength and restrictive size. With that said, his range and coverage skills give him some appeal, especially in today’s NFL. I think he can carve out a role on subpackages and special teams, but it’s hard to envision him as an NFL starter. His best fit comes as a 4-3 weakside linebacker where he can see ball-chase ball and take advantage of his range, hopefully avoiding contact in pursuit.” – Joe Marino, The Draft Network
