Trenton Thompson, 21, left Georgia for the draft after three seasons, despite a dip in production as a junior. Thompson had five sacks as an interior rusher as a sophomore, including three in Georgia’s bowl game against TCU, but recorded none last season.
Thompson left school the spring of his sophomore year to seek treatment for a “significant medical issue” after medication for the issue caused him to have an adverse reaction. Further details have not been divulged.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound Thompson has also dealt with ankle, knee and shoulder injuries, making his health a significant concern when combined with his other issue.
