Sometimes at Alabama – a breeding ground for NFL talent – pro-caliber prospects still have to wait their turn.

That was the case with Evans, who, after three seasons as a productive role player, was finally given the reins as a senior and emerged with 13 tackles for loss and six sacks in the Crimson Tide’s national championship season despite playing through a groin injury most of the year.

He plays middle linebacker, the same position as mentor C.J. Mosley, a former teammate and current ILB for the Baltimore Ravens.
