Pretty soon, Vikings tight end David Morgan II won’t be the only Texas-San Antonio alumnus in the NFL.

At 6-foot-7, defensive end Marcus Davenport began his rise as a barely-recruited ultra-lanky pass rusher who lacked power. He’s since bulked up about 30 pounds to 255, having shown improvement in sacks and tackles for loss each of his four college seasons.

As a senior, he had a two-game stretch against North Texas and Rice where he combined for 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and a defensive touchdown. He ended his career with 21.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.

NFL.com compared him to Danielle Hunter.
