This Wyoming product with the big arm is one of the most compelling players in the 2018 draft.
Josh Allen started at junior college, then sent begging emails to Division I programs hoping they’d give him a shot. Wyoming took the bait and brought him aboard, but Allen broke his collarbone in his first year. In Year 2, he proved himself with a 28-touchdown, 15-interception season that had draft analysts foaming at the mouth about his prospects for the following year’s draft.
His 2017 season left something to be desired as his production dipped a bit to just 16 touchdowns; his yardage dropping by nearly 1,400 yards. But he also limited himself to just six interceptions, and he threw for eight touchdowns and zero interceptions in his final four games – all wins.
His college accuracy was suspect at just 56 percent, but his 6-foot-5, 230-pound frame and 80-yard arm give him physical traits few quarterbacks have. Whichever team believes in Allen will surely believe they are getting a steal.
