Locks
MLB (1 Unit) Tampa Bay Rays/Boston Red Sox Over 9.5 (-110): 6:10 PM CT on NESN
Because it keeps happening, that’s why. This is the last Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox game at Fenway of this interminable baseball season, and 87% trends are a little tough to ignore. With 40 runs in two games pushing the over record in Fenway to 7-1, I’m reasonably certain these teams can get over this total that hasn’t adjusted at all.
There are two much better pitchers starting for both teams tonight, likely the reason for this total being a repeat of the previous two games. I just don’t see it mattering with the way these offenses have been running, though. Nathan Eovaldi has 3 starts against the Rays this season, with those games going 3-0 over this number at an average of 17.7 runs per game. And Shane McClanahan just had a bad outing against this Boston lineup last week, plus his last 4 road starts have averaged 11.8 runs per game.
There’s a big wind blowing out of Fenway tonight as well, so I’ll stick with the trend and hot offenses here.
