MLB (0.5 Unit) Baltimore Orioles/LA Angels Over 8.5 (-115; Odds via Fanduel): 8:38 PM CT on Bally Sports West

I’m targeting this series one last time as it wraps up and looking to the total tonight. These teams have gotten to 9 runs the past two nights, and averaged 9.5 runs in the 6 meetings all season. I think they can definitely get there again in a game that matches up arguably the most volatile starting pitchers from both squads.

Kyle Gibson will start for Baltimore and is capable of a blow-up at any moment, evidenced by his highly varied results in recent starts. But he piled up a 7.89 ERA in August and allowed 8 home runs in those 5 starts, so he’s getting hit fairly hard right now. Whether we see Shohei Ohtani back in the LA lineup tonight or not, I think the Angels are in for some runs here.

Meanwhile, the steady Orioles offense should knock Patrick Sandoval around, who has far worse numbers at home this season. He’s also turned in some very inconsistent results this year, but Baltimore is a split-neutral hitting team and should jump on him and the bad relievers that follow. With the wind blowing out of Angel Stadium again, these teams should meet or exceed their usual production against each other.

WNBA (0.25 Unit) Seattle Storm @ Atlanta Dream -4.5 First Half (-110; Odds via DraftKings): 6:00 PM CT on NBATV

There are 3 teams jockeying for 2 remaining WNBA playoff spots, with Atlanta holding a slim lead. This is the most winnable game they have left against a Seattle squad that’s been eliminated, and I think that urgency will bring out the focus early tonight. They’ve played well against the Storm in the previous two meetings, leading by 15 at halftime the last time they played in Atlanta. Even the game in Seattle saw the Dream lead by 7 at the break. In their last home game against an eliminated team Atlanta led Phoenix by 28 at half, so they’re capable of stomping on bad teams early and should do so tonight.
