    Locks

MLB (0.75 Unit) St. Louis Cardinals/Cincinnati Reds Over 9.5 (-110): 5:40 PM CT on Bally Sports OH

The Cardinals had an uncharacteristic power outage yesterday, only managing a single run against one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball. But the Reds are taking bad pitching to the next level again tonight by sending Mike Minor back out, and the matchup couldn’t be worse for him.

Minor has benefited from facing weaker opponents that aren’t great against lefties this month, but St. Louis is the hottest team against left-handed pitching in baseball. The Cardinals roster has a career .320 average and 1.026 OPS against Minor and hammered him for 5 runs in 4 innings earlier this season.

The Cardinals should bounce back in a big way against Minor and a bad bullpen, but Cincinnati is in line for runs themselves. They’re better against lefties like José Quintana, and the St. Louis starter has been getting progressively worse this month and has a 5.03 road ERA. These teams are also prone to get into slugfests, with the past 9 meetings averaging 11.2 runs per game. With a breeze blowing out of the hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark, expect plenty of scoring to get this over the total.
