MLB (0.25 Unit) SF Giants ML @ Philadelphia Phillies (+125; Odds via Fanduel): 5:40 PM CT on MLB Network

This really boils down to being a system play for me in a couple of ways, and I just can’t ignore the opportunity. I’m always looking to go against the loser of Sunday Night Baseball when they play on Monday, especially when there’s travel involved. With the Phillies coming back from Williamsport and the LLWS, they’re in the perfect spot for being groggy today.

It’s also somewhat of a Malinsky Special here, with the Phillies returning home after two series on the road. One of those was in Toronto and the other was in split venues that required extra travel, so I’m really not seeing Philadelphia firing on all cylinders today. Phillies starter Aaron Nola has not been sharp lately with a 5.36 ERA across his past 7 starts, and the Giants are already 3-0 against Philly this year. I’ll take a shot at plus money that San Fran sneaks out another win here.

    MLB (0.5 Unit) 2-Team Moneyline Parlay (+130)

NY Mets @ Atlanta Braves (-205; Odds via DraftKings): 6:20 PM CT on Bally Sports South

This Braves team is the best in the league against lefties, and they should crush a left-handed starter today as David Peterson takes the mound. Peterson also isn’t going very deep into games lately as he tries to get back into the starting rotation, and that will allow Atlanta to tee off on the bad Mets bullpen. While the Braves have a rookie starting in Allan Winans, he held down the Mets in his last start and should do enough to let the offense rake. There’s a reason why Atlanta is 8-2 against the Mets this season with a plus-40 run differential, and they’ll bounce back from yesterday’s loss here.

Seattle Mariners (-185; Odds via DraftKings) @ Chicago White Sox: 7:10 PM CT on FS1

The Mariners are absolutely on fire, and I don’t see their momentum being slowed by a cratering White Sox team. Seattle is 14-4 in the month of August with a plus-32 run differential, and now send their most reliable starter to the mound. Luis Castillo has been a big driver of their success as Seattle is 4-0 in his past 4 starts, plus he has a favorable matchup here against a short-handed Chicago team that struggles against righties. The Southsiders are also coming back from Denver which always wears players down. Chicago is just 6-11 this month as they play out the string of a lost season, and this looks like a bad spot for them to see such a hot opponent.

    Degenerates

NFL Baltimore Ravens -1.5 @ Washington Commanders (-110; Odds via Caesars): 7:00 PM CT on ESPN

Does one of the strangest streaks in sports survive for a 25th straight time? I’m inclined to say it will, especially since I doubt the Ravens organization wants it to end on what is the preseason’s version of Monday Night Football. Reports are that Washington will not play Sam Howell in this game, and I think that gives Baltimore the edge in backup quarterbacks. The Ravens have just been purely dominant during this run, doubling up their opponents by a combined score of 561-280, and I’ll count on them to sneak out number 25 tonight.

Every day he will offer his Locks and Degenerate picks. Locks are the games he’s confident in. Degenerates are entertaining but riskier picks.
