Locks
MLB (0.25 Unit) NY Mets ML @ Philadelphia Phillies (+105): 6:05 PM CT on NBCS-PHI
I’m surprised to see the Mets as underdogs in this game for a number of reasons. Not the least of those reasons is that they’re already 11-4 against the Phillies this season, with a plus-28 run differential in those games. The Mets are also considerably healthier, with Philadelphia missing Kyle Schwarber and Brandon Marsh.
The pitching matchup here is excellent, with two extremely hot arms squaring off. But I have to give the edge to Chris Bassitt for New York, given the Mets are 3-0 against Philly when he starts. And Bassitt dominates them too, only allowing a 1.08 ERA and .180 on-base average in those games, plus he has no earned runs all month. Aaron Nola is no slouch, pitching very well lately and against the Mets this season. But his squad is 0-4 against the Mets when he starts, and just like in those games, I see New York finding a way to win this one.
