MLB (0.75 Unit) Toronto Blue Jays/NY Yankees Over 8.5 (-110): 6:05 PM CT on MLB Network
Did the Yankees get back to their old ways with essentially one swing of the bat? Hitting slumps and hot streaks often turn on a dime in baseball, so perhaps last night’s walk-off grand slam sparks a return to the high-scoring ways we’re accustomed to.
It certainly doesn’t hurt that they’ll get to face the road version of José Berríos tonight. The Toronto righty and his 7.50 ERA away from home should be easy pickings if the Bronx Bombers truly have returned to form. Berríos has really struggled in his past two starts overall, so I’m pretty confident we’ll see New York put up plenty here.
So that leaves it to the Toronto bats to also get back on track and contribute. The Jays have been in a scoring slump of their own, but facing Frankie Montas could help break them out of it. Their lineup has a cumulative .373 average against the newest Yankee starter, who hasn’t looked terribly sharp since New York acquired him. Any contribution from Toronto here might just be icing on the cake if another Berríos blowup happens, so look for this game to easily clear the total.
