Locks
MLB (0.5 Unit) LA Dodgers -1.5 @ Milwaukee Brewers (-110): 7:10 PM CT on FS1
The Dodgers were finally underdogs yesterday and just barely proved the oddsmakers right. They’re back to being favorites today, and I’d say deservingly so with the pitching matchup and trends that are in their favor.
Tony Gonsolin has proven me wrong in expecting regression to hit him hard in the second half of the season. He’s been basically unhittable in his past couple of starts, and he should be able to hold down a struggling Brewers team that has fallen flat since the trade deadline. And the Dodger bats should take care of business against Eric Lauer, who’s solid ERA tells an inaccurate story compared to his deeper stats. Los Angeles knows how to hit him as well, with their lineup combining for a .301 average and 1.102 OPS against Lauer.
The Dodgers have 73 run line cashes in their 80 victories for a reason, and they should get back to those winning ways here. They have the best average margin of victory off a loss, plus the best run line record on the road. Milwaukee should be in more of a flat spot after last night’s walk-off, so expect the Dodgers to bounce back in a big way here.
