After winning the past 5 meetings, the Dodgers now lead the season series 7-3 against the Giants. Notably, all of those wins have come by multiple runs, as LA also has a plus-20 run differential across the series. I just don’t see any end to that trend tonight, as the Dodgers seem to have San Fran’s number, and these teams are headed in opposite directions.

The Dodgers own a significant pitching edge tonight with Tyler Anderson looking to continue his surprisingly excellent 2022 campaign. The Dodger lefty just shut down the Giants 10 days ago, part of a July where he posted a 1.11 ERA. As is usually the case for the Dodgers, they win his starts big, with all but one of their 15 wins behind Anderson coming by multiple runs.

While Alex Wood has had a strong past month, he’s 0-2 against the Dodgers this season with a 4.82 ERA in those meetings. This Giants team is also severely shorthanded, slumping, and looking likely to sell some assets at the deadline today. A Dodgers squad that has seen 61 of its 69 wins come by multiple runs should earn another one tonight.
