Tough schedule today with a light slate and so many early games, but one thing you can usually rely on is this Yankees offense. They’ll get to face another left-handed pitcher tonight in Framber Valdez, who at first glance seems like he could hold the Yankees freight train down a little. He owns a fantastic 1.61 ERA on the road. But a closer look at his road opponents shows that he hasn’t faced anything close to what he’ll see tonight.
New York has been excellent against lefties this season, scoring the 3rd-most runs in baseball and ranking top-5 in most power metrics. As the Yankees are just 10-6-4 over this total in their past 20 games it would seem like a pretty fair number. But with some road regression expected from Valdez, I like the Yanks to find their way over this isolated total.
