MLB Cleveland Guardians Team Total Under 3 (-110): 6:37 PM CT on TBS
How a team can go 15 innings and come away with just a single run is beyond me. But that’s the magic of playoff baseball, where runs are at a premium. Until Cleveland shows that they can put a crooked number on the board, though, I’ll be looking to take their team unders, especially in a spot like this.
The Guardians were never a high-scoring team to begin with, ranking middle of the pack in runs scored during the regular season. Winning their Wild Card series with 3 total runs only solidifies my opinion of them.
They also only averaged 2.3 runs per game against the Yankees during the regular season and have a tough matchup with Gerrit Cole. The Yankee ace saw them twice this season, posting a 1.42 ERA, a .163 on-base average allowed, and only giving up 7 total hits. I see Cole extending the futility for Cleveland at the plate in a game that typifies playoff baseball.
