Minnesota Golden Gophers head coach Richard Pitino spoke to the media for the first time since allegations of a college basketball corruption scandal involving Pitino's father were made public.
Rick Pitino, Louisville's basketball coach since 2001, was placed on unpaid leave as investigators look into claims of the program funneling a sum of $100,000 to a potential recruit.

Pitino later added his thoughts about the scandal's ramifications on the sport.
"I think it's kind of bad and good, right? I think probably short-term it's not very good, but maybe in the end, long term, it'll be better. It's not good for anybody right now, and I only know what I read, so you really don't know what the truth is with all that stuff, but it's never good when you hear any of those things about your game. So hopefully it's something that in the long term, everybody will benefit from."
