The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday afternoon that game three of the four-game series with the Cleveland Indians -- originally slated to air on ESPN with a 7:10 p.m. first pitch -- was postponed due to inclement weather.
With temperatures in the 40s and rain moving through, it was clearly an easy decision to make. Certainly, it helps that as divisional foes, the Twins and Indians are slated to play 17 more times -- including Wednesday's rainout -- in terms of rescheduling, though it does mean that Minnesota misses out on a chance for some national exposure after not playing a nationally-televised game in 2016.
Wednesday's game will be made up on Saturday, June 17 at 7:10 p.m. as part of a split doubleheader, with a 1:10 p.m. game originally scheduled for that day.
On the positive side for the Twins, Wednesday's rainout means they'll miss Corey Kluber this time around. Both teams have announced their starting pitchers for Thursday, as Ervin Santana will take the mound for the Twins against Trevor Bauer of the Indians.
