The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have returned from rehab assignment and reinstated infielder Eduardo Escobar from the 15-day disabled list.
Escobar missed 14 games with a left groin strain, an injury he suffered May 6 at Chicago-AL. Escobar played in three rehab assignment games with Single-A Ft. Myers, batting .364 (4-for-11) with a double, a triple and a run.
To make room for Escobar on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Jorge Polanco to Triple-A Rochester. Polanco has hit .231 (6-for-26) in 13 games for the Twins this season.
