The Timberwolves announced Saturday that the team has waived Melo Trimble, Amile Jefferson, and Shawne Williams from the team.
After each had impressive stints in the Las Vegas Sumer League, - Trimble with Philadelphia, Jefferson with Minnesota - the Wolves signed them to training camp contracts.
Williams was signed on Friday and waived the next day. This was likely done with the expectation that, with his rights now belonging to Minnesota, he'll go on to sign with the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League. It wouldn't be shocking if the Timberwolves decided to follow suit with both Jefferson and Trimble.
This series of moves makes way for swingman Marcus Georges-Hunt, another late addition, to make the final roster.
