  • Molesky's Weekend Wagers: Back To The Parlay

    Guest Colton Molesky

If you bet with me last weekend, you found some green on a parlay. Now, it's time to get back to it this weekend. The NBA is back, baseball is deep into the playoffs, and both college football and the NFL are in midseason form. This is gambling nirvana. Time to go out and win some money.

    My Bets

Taking Michigan State (-260), Louisiana Tech (-145), Penn State (-355) and Temple (+215) on a parlay -  The favorites are all home teams and backed by the money line. The biggest gamble is the Temple Owls on the road against the Army Black Knights. The Black Knights average 378.4 rushing yards per game against an Owls defense that only give up 167.1 per game on the ground. But when push comes to shove, the Black Knights only average 17.9 passing yards per game. The Owls have a quarterback in Logan Marchi who has passed for 1,658 yards this season. The Black Knights only can play one kind of way, while the Owls are far more balanced. This stables out the parlay and pays out at eight to one.

Taking The New York Yankees (+120) and The Tennessee Titans (-220) on the parlay - The Yankees are on a three-game run, with one game standing between them and a World Series spot. While the idea of "momentum" in sports is a hotly-debated topic, hot baseball teams are something I will bet money on every time, especially as underdogs. The Titans are playing the Cleveland Browns. That side is solid. I'll run with the Yankees hot streak and the Titans playing a very bad football team.

    Other Bets To Watch

Taking The New Orleans Saints (-210) To Win - The Green Bay Packers are going to really struggle changing the identity of their offense after quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a season-ending collarbone injury. The Saints are a pass-first team that have figured out their backfield in Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. They also still have their Pro-Bowl quarterback, Drew Brees, to lead them to victory.

Taking The Baltimore Ravens Spread(+5.5 Points) - The Ravens are on the road against a tough Minnesota defense. However, the Ravens defense lets up only 189.5 passing yards per game and can clamp down on the Vikings running game by leaning on their cornerbacks to carry the team. The Ravens also get to the quarterback, racking up 16 sacks on the season. With wide receiver Stefon Diggs questionable to play and backup quarterback Case Keenum still starting, the Ravens can keep this game close.
