The Minnesota Golden Gophers roster continues to get revamped as senior Matz Stockman chose to graduate and transfer from the program despite never playing in a game, according to Fox Sports 1's Evan Daniels.
The 7-footer had come to Minnesota from Louisville and was forced to sit out last season due to NCAA transfer regulations, but as a grad transfer, he'll be able to play immediately for his next team.
Stockman would likely have provided depth in the Gophers' frontcourt behind redshirt sophomore Eric Curry and freshman Daniel Oturu, though both are recovering from long-term injuries. Curry sat out last season with a torn ACL, and Oturu underwent shoulder surgery in May.
The Norway native averaged less than three points per game in his three seasons at Louisville.
He becomes the third transfer from the Gophers program this offseason, joining sophomore Jamir Harris and senior Davonte Fitzgerald.
It's possible the Gophers may now target grad transfer Geno Crandall, who averaged double figures for three consecutive seasons at the University of North Dakota.
