Family Night gives Green Bay Packers fans their first real look at their team before the season. Here are some of the players who are trending up and down.

Young Edge Rushers
Development is not linear, and in the cases of guys who are supreme athletes, it often takes time. Now, in both Lukas Van Ness and Brenton Cox Jr.’s third NFL seasons, it looks like they could be turning a corner. Both have been standouts so far through training camp, stacking day after day of good practices where they are consistently winning reps.
Omar Brown
With three interceptions on Family Night, Brown put his name back out there. The Denver Broncos signed him as an undrafted free agent last year, and the Packers picked him up late in the year. Now, Brown looks like he could push for a roster spot over Zayne Anderson.
“He’s done a lot. I mean, he’s making plays,” Matt LaFleur said. “You want to see how guys respond and react when they get those opportunities, and he’s coming through, so that’s really positive.
“He’s definitely a guy we had our eye on coming out in the draft process. We had him in for a 30 visit, so certainly, there was some like there for him. To get him ingrained in our system and to watch him develop, grow, and develop has been pretty exciting. Again, he’s making plays.”
Georgia DTs
Warren Brisnon and Nazir Stackhouse have consistently made plays in the run game so far in training camp. Former Packers defensive tackle T.J. Slaton excelled at filling holes in the run game. After Slaton signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Packers will need these two to pick up the slack.
Matthew Golden
The rookie just keeps making plays. Golden is doing everything at Packers camp, and the buzz is off the charts. His hands, his speed, his effort. It’s all on display, and it all looks great. Golden has now earned reps with the starters, overtaking guys like Jayden Reed. It’s hard not to fantasize about what he could do this season.

Javon Bullard
Bullard is in a peculiar position where he doesn’t have a defined role. One day, he’ll be at safety, the next he’ll be at boundary corner, and then he’ll be in the nickel. He’s getting a ton of reps, but not all of them are going his way. While he’s a roster lock, it’s not the positive swing fans would have liked to see entering Year 2.
Jordan Morgan
Morgan has played left tackle with Rasheed Walker out, and he’s struggled. While playing mostly on the interior last season, that’s where he found success. Now, in camp, he’s been playing at his college position.
“There’s been a lot of good moments and then there’s some things we have to clean up,” LaFleur said. “It’s like that for a lot of players, especially young players. What did he play, six games last year? And this has been primarily inside.
“To get him outside at left tackle, there’s going to be some hard lessons along the way, but I love how he’s attacked this thing, and the work that he put in throughout the course of the offseason has been pretty evident. You can tell by his body. We’ll continue to push him to be the best he can be.”
That’s not exactly resounding praise.
MarShawn Lloyd
This one is not really his fault. Still, at this point, it’s just hard to know what the Packers have in Lloyd. Another injury has sidelined him during camp. I can’t wait for him to get healthy so we can see what the kid can really do. But right now, the Packers don’t have a choice but to elevate other backs.
While there’s still plenty of time until cut-downs, these players have started to make their impressions known.
