The hope here is that Zebby Matthews continues his strong start in the big leagues, as his first two appearances have been pretty good. That’s especially true considering he faced two excellent lineups, and he’ll have to contend with another here. But the Cardinals run extremely hot and cold, so they could easily stay cold after getting blanked yesterday.
And the Twins aren’t likely to put up a big number here against Erik Fedde, who posted a 0.82 ERA and .175 opponent on-base average in two starts against Minnesota this season when he was a White Sox starter. This depleted Twins lineup really struggles with righties, so expect a slow start from them and the Cardinals today.
