I’ve decided to go against this Phoenix defense on a nightly basis, as they seem to have unveiled a Washington Generals philosophy of standing around and watching while the other team does whatever it wants. These past 4 games where they’ve allowed 134.3 PPG and 67.0 before halftime kicked off against this very Boston squad, and I don’t see the Suns having the ability or effort needed to slow them down here.

Not when the Celtics are fresh off an ugly home loss on Wednesday, and nobody bounces back like Boston, who is 17-2 with a plus-18.7 margin of victory after a loss. I see the Celtics running it up early and taking out frustrations on a team they know they can dominate, so they’ll have a ton of points on the board by halftime.

NBA (0.5 Unit) Cleveland Cavaliers -4 First Quarter @ San Antonio Spurs (-110; Odds via Caesars): 7:00 PM CT on Fanduel Sports OH

This Cavaliers team continues to be a play-on team for first quarters in my book despite an ugly start on Wednesday, while the Spurs continue to be a play-against squad. Those two factors merging for this matchup makes it an automatic bet for me, and this price is relatively cheap since it’s only half a point less than what the Cavs were laying a week ago when these teams met in Cleveland. Given that the Spurs are 26th in average first quarter margin at home this season, and actually worse at home than on the road, I’ll back the first quarter freight train that is Cleveland for another hot start tonight.
